WHY COACHING?

You have a vision of fulfillment - a particular job, a life goal or perhaps starting a business. You know what you need to do, but you aren't making much progress along the path to get there. If this is you, you are a very good candidate for coaching. And you are one of the lucky ones.

Many of us have a deeper issue - we don't have a clear vision of where we are going. We might not even know what we want. We just feel stuck and we know we have to make a change. We feel like we're treading water. We might even feel lost. If this is you, you are an excellent candidate for coaching.

Coaching is a process to help a person reach their personal and professional goals.  Research shows that coaching is not only effective for goal attainment, it helps to clarify one's goals (1). A professional coach helps their clients find clarity from within, overcome challenges with their own solutions, and accomplish their goals on their own terms (2). Coaching is an essential tool for career advancement and transition, and for starting a business. Coaching is also shown to increase career satisfaction and overall wellbeing (3).

But let's not lose sight of the ultimate objective of goal-setting. It's about fulfillment -- your definition of fulfillment. It's about pursuing a life of intention, purpose, zest and meaning. Coaching is not about the "what" - it's about the "why."  What is your "why"?

COACHING TECHNIQUE

A person is not a mere collection of activities or beliefs. Yet we often try to compartmentalize our "selves" into public and private, business and family. When we do, we actually stymie progress toward our goals, because we are willfully ignoring parts of ourselves that require attention. To truly grow, we need to recognize and operate from a whole, integrated self.

Effective coaching - whether it is career, personal, leadership, or something else - serves the whole person.  We practice a holistic coaching style, observing and encompassing the totality of behaviors, beliefs, dreams and emotions.
